Machine-Room-Less Elevators
Machine-room-less (MRL) elevators put the drive in or on the shaft and drop a separate machine room. They save space in new housing and offices; some modernizations use MRL if the shaft allows.
The survey checks headroom, rail type and maintenance access. MRL does not fit every shaft; hydraulic or classic traction are compared on the same sheet.
